Crypto Savings Plans

Crypto savings plans evaluated on cost per year at your monthly amount, the route to your own wallet, licence and asset protection, minimum and schedule, and execution price transparency.

Ranked here: recurring crypto purchase plans a retail account can set up today, compared on a year of executions at your monthly amount and on the route to a wallet you control. Not ranked here: one-off purchases, savings plans in exchange-traded products rather than crypto-assets, and recurring buys whose terms could not be read.

Scored by Execution price transparency · 10% (Finst Auto Invest 10/10, Bitstack Recurring 8/10, Relai Recurring 6/10)
  • Exit failure: you cannot get out at par, on time, or with what is yours.

Decision guide

What matters most before choosing in this category

Weighted on cost per year at €100 a month (35), custody and the route to your own wallet (25), licence and asset protection (15), minimum and schedule (15), and execution price transparency (10). The heaviest is cost: the fee per execution plus the spread in the execution price, over a year of executions.

How much will the plan invest each month, and how often should it run?
Should the coins end up in a wallet you control, or can they stay with the provider?
Does the provider publish the spread inside the execution price, or only the fee?

The #1 overall and the scoring weights

Finst Auto InvestData checked Oct 2026
Recurring buys at a flat 0.15% per execution with no added spread, from €10, daily to monthly.

The only plan in this ranking whose full execution cost is published as one number. Finst's fee schedule, valid as of 23 July 2026, states 'Trading fee 0,15% of trade amount. No added spread.' and that the fee 'applies to all buy, sell, swap, and auto-invest'; its Auto Invest page adds 'there are no extra fees for using Auto Invest'. At €100 a month that is €1.80 a year. The weak point is the exit: Finst holds the coins (through Stichting Finst Custody) and charges 'Network fee + 2,50€ of third-party costs per withdrawal', so the optional automatic withdrawal after every execution would cost more than the plan itself at small amounts.

Best forThe lowest published all-in cost of a monthly plan: 0.15% per execution, no added spread
Main tradeoffEach withdrawal to your own wallet costs the network fee plus €2.50 of third-party costs, so withdraw in batches rather than after every execution.

Frequently asked

Questions people ask before choosing savings plans

What is a crypto savings plan?
A standing instruction to buy a fixed euro amount of a coin on a schedule, daily, weekly or monthly, without placing each order yourself. It is also called a recurring buy or dollar-cost averaging. Because the same purchase repeats for years, a small difference in the rate per execution adds up, which is why this page prices a year of executions at your monthly amount rather than a single purchase.
Why do some plans show "Spread unpublished" instead of a yearly cost?
Most providers publish a fee per execution but not how far their execution price sits from the market. That spread is part of what you pay, so a yearly cost without it would understate the price. Where it is neither published nor bounded, the plan shows its published fee floor and the words "Spread unpublished", and it cannot score above the middle of the cost ladder.
Is a plan whose coins cannot leave still ranked?
Yes, with the finding on the row. A plan whose coins cannot be sent to another wallet is exposure you can only exit by selling. In Simple Buy that fails a hard rule; here it is scored instead, at 2 of 10 on the custody criterion, because a plan is a schedule whose coins you move in batches and the cost of each exit matters as much as whether there is one. Every plan ranked today has an exit: Relai delivers each purchase to your own wallet, Bitstack and Trade Republic transfer out for the network fee alone, and Finst and Bitpanda charge for each withdrawal.
