What is the safest DEX aggregator?
Safety comes from how long the router has run without an exploit, how deeply it is audited, and how trust-minimized it is — whether the routing is open-source and verifiable, whether settlement is permissionless (no single router to trust) or admin-controlled, and whether it protects your order from MEV. Did KyberSwap get hacked?
KyberSwap Elastic — a separate concentrated-liquidity AMM — was exploited for ~$48.7M in November 2023. The KyberSwap aggregator/router that this comparison ranks was not affected and has never lost user funds to a remote exploit. We record the Elastic hack honestly as an associated-product event, and score the aggregator on its own record — which is why we separate the two rather than tar the aggregator with the AMM’s incident.
Which routing model is best?
It depends on your trade. Direct pathfinding splits an order across DEXs onchain; batch auctions clear many orders at once and remove ordering-based MEV; RFQ gets firm quotes from market makers, which suits larger tickets; intent-solver models have competing solvers fill your intent off the mempool, and are compared separately under intent networks. There is no single best model, so we show which one a product uses as a fact rather than scoring it.
Why is the biggest aggregator not automatically ranked first?
We rank on security & track record and trust-minimization, not volume, and those facts separate the leaders on specifics. Matcha settles through 0x Settler contracts that cannot be upgraded in place. 1inch is the extensively audited pioneer with an immutable router. CoW Swap removes ordering-based MEV with batch auctions and immutable settlement, but its solvers are bonded and allowlisted and parts of the solver stack are proprietary. The current order is on this page and in rankings.json; it is affiliate-blind and volume-blind, so being the biggest never wins on its own. Pick the 'Security & track record' priority if that is what you weight most.
