On the biggest one, advertising does not sit beside the ranking. It feeds it.

Token screeners evaluated on how clearly the sold pixels are separated from the neutral ones, what a year of ordinary use costs including the trade fee, whether the free tier is a usable product, and how much of the market it sees.

Decision guide
What matters most before choosing in this category
Assume the trending list is partly an advertising product, then decide how much of that you can price in. On the largest screener the paid products do not merely sit next to the ranking — its own Boosting documentation states that ads help boost a token's Trending Score, and at 500 active Boosts a token unlocks a Golden Ticker that recolours its symbol on the screener itself. Even the cleanest product here sells projects a paid accelerator into its trending modules. Second, price the whole year including execution: several of these screeners also route trades, and that per-trade fee dwarfs any subscription for anyone who actually trades. Third, check what the free tier survives, because in this category it is usually the product rather than a demo.
Key question
Which parts of this interface are sold, and does the page say so where you can see it?
Key question
Does the screener also execute trades, and what does that fee cost you across a year?
Key question
Is the free tier a usable product, or a demo that stops at the moment you need it?

Data checked Aug 2026
CoinGecko-owned DEX pool tracker covering 252 chains, free to use, with no trade execution. Strongest on what a year of ordinary use actually costs, including the trade fee (10/10): The terminal is free to use and takes no execution fee because it does not execute trades - its documented product is data. The only paid path is an optional CoinGecko API subscription: this FAQ says "you may subscribe to any CoinGecko API paid plan to access higher rate limit for GeckoTerminal endpoints", and those… Weakest on how clearly the sold pixels are separated from the neutral ones (8/10): The ad policy states in bold: "NOTE: Chain, DEX and Token listings are FREE. GeckoTerminal does not charge for listings and you cannot buy listings through ad spend." That sentence was matched character-for-character on this page on 2026-08-06. Corrected during verification: the draft scored this 9 on the strength of… Published price: "The current rate limit for the Public API is set at 30 calls per minute." and "you may subscribe to any CoinGecko API paid plan to access higher rate limit for GeckoTerminal endpoints" (both re-fetched and matched character-for-character 2026-08-06). Main tradeoff
It is not neutral just because listings are free. The GeckoTerminal-branded ad page at https://ads.coingecko.com/geckoterminal states "Anyone can launch ads from $99 – even if you're not the project owner!" (note the en dash; the draft rendered it as a hyphen), so a third party with no relationship to a token can buy the promoted slot attached to it. Separately, GeckoTerminal publishes no data-latency or update-frequency statement on any of the four GeckoTerminal-owned pages loaded here - I searched the API FAQ specifically for latency, update-frequency and delay language and found none - so 'real-time' is unquantified; if you need to be first to a pair, that gap matters more than the chain count.

The referenced CoinGecko plans, read the same day at https://www.coingecko.com/en/api/pricing, are Demo "$0 /month" with "10k" call credits, Basic "$35/mo" with "100k call credits/mo", Analyst "$129/mo" with "500k call credits/mo", Lite "$499/mo" with "2m call credits/mo". Corrected during verification: the draft omitted the Basic plan's credit allowance; it is 100k/mo, confirmed on the pricing page this session.

Free multi-chain pair screener whose revenue is entirely payments from the projects it lists.
Free multi-chain pair screener whose revenue is entirely payments from the projects it lists. Strongest on whether the free tier is a usable product or a demo (10/10): There is no paid consumer tier to survive - the whole screener is free and the API is free with limits stated per endpoint in this public reference. Multi-chain token tracker and data API with an in-page swap routed through Jupiter. Strongest on how clearly the sold pixels are separated from the neutral ones (8/10): The only thing Birdeye sells to projects is a metadata update - this page lists "Fast Track" as "Verify within 2 business working days, cost $300." and "Regular Track" as "Verify within 7 business working days, cost $200." - and it opens by telling buyers not to bother: "YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DO THIS! Frequently asked
Questions people ask before choosing screeners
Does paying make a token trend?
On the largest screener in this pool, its own documentation says so. The advertising page answers the question directly — ads help boost a token's Trending Score — and the Boosting doc describes a Golden Ticker unlocked at 500 active Boosts that recolours the token's symbol on the screener and token pages so it stands out. That is a paid visual change to the ranking surface itself, not a banner beside it. The disclosure exists and is findable, which is why this is scored rather than treated as disqualifying; what separates the products here is how clearly that boundary is drawn where a user is actually looking.
What does a screener really cost me?
Almost never the subscription. Several of these products also execute trades, and the per-trade fee is the dominant cost for anyone using the screener for what it is for — a year of ordinary trading through an executing screener costs multiples of any subscription in this pool. That is why cost here is scored all-in rather than by sticker price. One further caution found in the pricing itself: a headline ad product prices 24 hours, 2 days and a week at exactly the same daily rate, so what looks like a duration discount is not one — worth checking before assuming volume buys anything.
Can I trust the volume and liquidity numbers?
They vary more than the uniform presentation suggests, which is why provenance is scored separately from coverage. These products differ in how many chains and DEXs they index, how quickly new pairs appear, and whether the figures are computed by the vendor or passed through from an upstream source. A screener that sees fewer venues will show a thinner picture of the same token without saying so. Treat coverage as a claim to check against the chains you actually trade, not as a headline number.
