Top cards: "Portfolio Tracking" "Free"; "Crypto Tax report" "From €49 per tax year"; "Blockpit PLUS" "€3.99 per month". Tax-report ladder, each card reading "One-time purchase per tax year • PDF & CSV export": "Small · up to 50 transactions" "€49"; "Medium · up to 1,000 transactions" "€99"; "Large · up to 3,000 transactions" "€149"; "X-Large · up to 10,000 transactions" "€229"; "XX-Large · more than 10,000 transactions" "€549". Stated basis: "Pricing is based on the number of transactions in the selected tax year, not on the size or value of the portfolio." Blockpit PLUS: "Only €3.99/month" "Incl. tax • Billed as annual subscription", listing "Cost basis, gains, losses per transaction". Hero line: "7 days of unlimited imports, no credit card required. Tax reports require a paid plan." FAQ, verbatim: "Tax reports require a paid plan. After the 7 days, your account stays free forever, but on the free plan you can only view your existing portfolio — new transaction imports also require a paid plan." | "Each CoinTracking plan has a different transaction limit based on the total number of transactions imported across all years. This means that all historical transactions count toward the limit, ensuring that your complete trading history is accurately analyzed for comprehensive tax calculations." | "Yes, all CoinTracking plans allow you to generate tax reports for every tax year at no additional cost. Unlike many other platforms that charge per tax year, our plans cover all years, ensuring that you can manage and report your entire transaction history." | "CoinTracking offers three plan duration options: 1-Year Plan billed once per year, 2-Year Plan with significant savings compared to annual billing, and Lifetime Plan — a one-time payment that grants lifetime access with no recurring fees." | "2-year and lifetime plans are also available at reduced rates." — the Lifetime and 2-year prices are not printed in the served HTML. Other served terms: "14-day money-back guarantee", "Cancel anytime", "We accept PayPal, credit cards (set up for recurring payments), cryptocurrency via NOWPayments and Crypto.com (one-time payments with a 5% Bitcoin discount), and Klarna for flexible payment options." You buy the tax-year licence and then find part of the interface still locked. Per-transaction cost basis ON SCREEN is NOT in the €49–€549 licence: "To view the Tax Details, you need an active Blockpit Plus subscription!" (https://intercom.help/blockpit/en/articles/12137146-advanced-transaction-details-ledger-tax, "January 30, 2026"), a separate subscription that the pricing page, fetched 2026-09-29, prices at "Only €3.99/month" "Incl. tax • Billed as annual subscription". The number itself is not withheld: the purchased PDF prints 'Kosten (€)', 'Erlös (€)' and 'Gewinn (€)' per transaction (verified on the sample report, pages 16-18). Blockpit Plus buys the on-screen view, not the data. The redesigned pricing page, fetched 2026-09-29, now names what Plus buys: its Blockpit PLUS card lists "Cost basis, gains, losses per transaction". The second sting is the cap, and it bites the buyer who did the right thing. The limit counts a self-transfer TWICE — "Transfers are counted twice because the incoming and outgoing components are separate transactions." (https://intercom.help/blockpit/en/articles/12137278-how-to-understand-the-transaction-limits-of-my-tax-year, "July 20, 2026") — so connecting one more hardware wallet after payment can push you past the package you already bought, and then, on a DIFFERENT help page (https://intercom.help/blockpit/en/articles/12137280-what-happens-if-i-exceed-the-transaction-limit-for-my-purchased-tax-year, "October 1, 2025"): "Once you exceed the transaction limit, you will no longer be able to download the tax report. Upgrade to a higher transaction package to regain access." The step from 50 transactions at 49€ to 1,000 at 99€ is a doubling with nothing in between. Blockpit does only charge the delta, same page: "We will, of course, only charge you the difference between your current package and the higher transaction package." Third, if you ever leave, your lot matching does not come with you: "Transfers are only exported in form of their basic transaction types: Deposit & Withdrawal. The exact reconciliation/reconstruction of previously linked transactions (Transfers) is therefore currently not possible via our export feature." (https://intercom.help/blockpit/en/articles/12137149-how-to-export-my-blockpit-transactions-as-a-csv-file). The CSV that leaves Blockpit has thirteen columns and not one of them is a cost basis. Fourth, portfolio tracking is free: the pricing page, fetched 2026-09-29, lists "Portfolio Tracking" at "Free", and the help centre confirms "You can always import unlimited transactions in terms of Portfolio & Performance Tracking, but for generating a tax report the displayed transaction limits apply." 50 transactions is the cheapest paid tax tier, not a free cap. Fifth, Blockpit names no audit partner: across the 33 Blockpit pages read for this review there is no mention of PwC, and the only claim is unnamed: "Blockpit features country specific and compliant tax frameworks in cooperation with Big4 companies." Its terms are issued by "Blockpit AG".

UNCHANGED IN SUBSTANCE -- both halves re-verified 2026-08-19. First, the transaction cap is LIFETIME, not annual: "Each CoinTracking plan has a different transaction limit based on the total number of transactions imported across all years. This means that all historical transactions count toward the limit, ensuring that your complete trading history is accurately analyzed for comprehensive tax calculations." (https://cointracking.info/pricing/) -- a ten-year history burns Starter's 200-transaction allowance on day one, so the $49/EUR39 entry price is a fiction for anyone with real history. Second, and worse for a legal record: stop renewing and you can no longer produce the report you already paid to produce. The free state is portfolio-view-only -- on 2026-09-29 the pricing page reads "Tax reports require a paid plan." and "new transaction imports also require a paid plan" -- so the 2025 Form 8949 you generated in 2026 cannot be regenerated in 2029 when an examiner asks, unless you are paying again. And section 6 of the Terms lists "User account inactivity exceeding 12 months" as cause to terminate, after which "CoinTracking will delete the data stored by the User 30 days after the termination of the User Agreement." Export the Roll Forward / Audit Report to CSV while the plan is live, or the derived record sits on a clock you do not control.

Score dimensions

weights sum to 86

The published score is five dimensions, each weighted for the category. "Published criteria" is the criteria block above; the other four are the engine's own terms — availability, friction, trust record, measured data. Each bar is one side's points out of that dimension's maximum; the weight beside the name is its points of the 86-point weighted total. The published criteria above can fill 24 of the block’s 30. A weight marked “constant here” belongs to a dimension every ranked product in the category holds at the same value: it still counts in the total, and it orders nothing here.
