- The word to read carefully in Spire's own FAQ is "single": all appchain sequencers inside a Sync Zone run on one node, and the cross-chain coordinator is a separate single point of failure that Spire says it is still working to decentralise. A buyer choosing Spire to escape a centralised sequencer is, today, changing which company operates the centralised sequencer. Spire also states that data injected across chains is not yet verifiable — "We are working on a TEE based proof process that will ensure data moving across chains is verifiably correct" — so the atomic composability that is the reason to buy is currently trust-based, and Spire's own term for it is "optimistic atomic execution".
