Record watch-outs
- Two things the ecosystem does not volunteer. First, the validator set has collapsed by roughly two thirds since 2023 while the marketing emphasises Firedancer. Second, the clean-since-Feb-2024 record excludes at least nine distinct disruptions reported between October 2024 and February 2025 — some lasting nearly 13 hours — that were never classified as official outages because block production technically continued.
- Helius lists SEVEN full outages totalling approximately 62 hours. The 30 April–1 May 2022 incident (8 hours, transaction spam from bots competing for Candy Machine NFT mints, validators ran out of memory) is classified by Helius as a full outage, not a degraded-performance period. The research demoted it to the degraded list and then reported a six-halt total, undercounting the chain's own cited source. The oneLiner 'six documented mainnet halts' inherits the same error. Read again 15 September 2026: the tagline now reads seven, following Helius' count of seven separate outage incidents.
