Record watch-outs
- The 12m48s finality and the 43-day, 2,483,581 ETH validator entry queue (validatorqueue.com) are structural, not transient. And Ethereum's client-diversity advantage is partly unmeasurable: its own two canonical telemetry sources disagree on which client is dominant, so nobody can state the actual supermajority risk with confidence.
- Clientdiversity.org publishes THREE consensus-layer telemetry sources, not two. The third is Sigma Prime's Blockprint, which shows Teku at 99.83%, Lighthouse at 0.16% and Lodestar at 0.01%. Against Miga Labs' Teku figure of 8.07%, the actual cross-source spread is roughly 92 percentage points, not 30. The research's underlying point — that Ethereum cannot state its own supermajority client risk — is strengthened, not weakened, but the stated source count and spread are both wrong and the omitted source is the most extreme of the three. Read again 15 September 2026: Blockprint still shows Teku at 99.83%, and Miga Labs now shows Teku at 7.48%.
- No full halt is correct and the 9 is defensible, but the evidence omits two dated, well-documented incidents that the criterion's own wording ('Degraded-performance periods counted separately') requires be disclosed: on 11 May 2023 the Beacon Chain failed to finalise for approximately 25 minutes (3 epochs), and on 12 May 2023 again for over an hour (8 epochs), caused by old-target attestation handling bugs in the Prysm and Teku consensus clients. These incidents also bear directly on finality_integrity: Ethereum's deterministic finality has empirically failed in production, which the finality evidence does not mention.
