How this ranking works

Everything the table draws on continues here: how firm the #1 is, the per-criterion arithmetic behind each score, who pays ChainChoice, and the full guide to choosing.

Direct answer

What is the best mev protection in 2026?

MEV Blocker ranks #1 overall for mev protection on ChainChoice. Ethereum RPC endpoint running a backrun-only order flow auction. It holds that rank under an affiliate-blind methodology scored across 4 published, weighted criteria — the code that ranks providers physically cannot read affiliate payouts (CI-enforced), so a payout can't move a rank. The verdict re-computes on every fee change, incident, or regulatory action; full reasoning and the audit receipt are below.

Best picks

Best mev protection in 2026

The best MEV protection depends on whether you need the transaction genuinely withheld until inclusion, and on where any rebate actually lands. Those two carry 60% of the weight between them, because they are the mechanism and the payout — an endpoint that leaks calldata to builders before inclusion has not protected anything, and a published rebate rate that settles anywhere other than your own address is not a rebate to you. Inclusion breadth and the independence of the protection evidence follow.

MEV Blocker
Ethereum RPC endpoint running a backrun-only order flow auction
Data checked Sep 2026
Ethereum RPC endpoint running a backrun-only order flow auction. Strongest on rebate published and reaching the end user's address (9/10): 90% of the backrun profit is "paid to the user that sent the transaction (tx.origin), immediately in the same block" (mevblocker.io FAQ). Self-published cumulative totals: "5.5K+ ETH rebated to users", "$26 USD value of median rebate" across "62M+ transactions" and "$219B+ volume protected". Coverage of the January… Weakest on independence and quality of the protection evidence (5/10): Ranked best on every metric by arXiv:2505.19708 — a paper authored by Paul Janicot and Alex Vinyas of CoW DAO Research, i.e. MEV Blocker's own co-creator, not an independent party. Its own documentation also contradicts itself on the same page: "MEV Blocker processes around 10% of daily Ethereum transactions" appears… Published price: Free to users.

Each bar is the score on that criterion’s own 0–10 scale, never rescaled to the pool. The dark line is the best any product here reached on that axis. Wt is the most the criterion can add to the 86-point weighted total. Pts is weight × score × 32; the sum is the methodology score, and each weighted point behind the leader costs 2.6 on the displayed score. how these are weighted

A shortlist is only honest if it says who it turned away. Each of these was assessed against the same published criteria as the ranked table and excluded for a stated reason — not overlooked.
We assessed 12 products here and rank 4 — 33% of what we looked at. That share is of the products we assessed, not of the category: how many exist is not something we can count, so we do not claim a number for it.

Main tradeoff
It is no longer a CoW DAO product. Special Mechanisms Group, a Consensys subsidiary, acquired MEV Blocker RPC (announced January 2026) and now operates it — so the same corporate parent controls both MEV Blocker (90% to the user) and MetaMask Smart Transactions (no user rebate documented). Separately, the 90% rebate and maximum privacy are mutually exclusive: /fullprivacy pays "No rebate".

Free to users: the docs describe MEV Blocker as "free for users to integrate". "MEV Blocker shares transactions with searchers via backrun bundles, returning 90% to the user." Revenue comes from builders: "Builders must pay MEV Blocker fees to access MEV Blocker transaction flow", billed as "Charge each builder 80% of the realized MEV Blocker value for the blocks they produced." The docs give two different figures for the share that goes back to wallets and other flow originators: "MEV Blocker shares 50% of builder fees with wallet flow originators" (How it works) and "redistributing 90% of builder fees that are attributable to the order flow originator" (Order flow auction).
Recommendation summary
What should decide this category
Do you need the transaction genuinely withheld until inclusion, or is a faster public route acceptable?
Which chain are you swapping on — most protection services are EVM-only, while Jupiter is the default on Solana?
Would you accept slower inclusion in exchange for a genuinely private route?

Flashbots Protect
Original private RPC, now routed through Flashbots' BuilderNet
Original private RPC, now routed through Flashbots' BuilderNet. Strongest on rebate published and reaching the end user's address (7/10): 90% of MEV refunds and 100% of gas fee refunds go to tx.origin — the second-best published terms here and paid to the trader, not an integrator. But eligibility is narrow: "Flashbots Protect provides refunds for transactions in blocks landed by BuilderNet", and BuilderNet built only 15.72% of blocks (1,025 of ~6,520)… Weakest on independence and quality of the protection evidence (6/10): Best-documented mechanism in the set — hint levels, refund splits and BuilderNet eligibility are all written down and falsifiable, and the docs openly admit the exclusivity trade-off ("Transactions sent exclusively to Flashbots RPC receive higher refunds than those multiplexed to other builders"). But Flashbots… Published price: No user fee published. Refunds: "90% of MEV refunds are sent to `tx.origin`" with 10% to the validator, and "100% of gas fee refunds are sent to `tx.origin`".

Intent-based DEX settling trades in batch auctions via solvers
Intent-based DEX settling trades in batch auctions via solvers. Strongest on order-flow privacy in practice (6/10): Trades never touch the public mempool as user transactions — orders are signed intents settled by bonded solvers in a batch with a uniform clearing price, so there is no user transaction for a sandwich bot to bracket. The order is however visible to the competing solver set during the auction, and protection is… Weakest on independence and quality of the protection evidence (4/10): Fee mechanics including the 0.98% cap are published in full, which is more than most here disclose. Titan Builder
Ethereum block builder with a direct bundle-submission endpoint
Ethereum block builder with a direct bundle-submission endpoint. Strongest on order-flow privacy in practice (9/10): The strongest explicit non-leak commitment in the set, and the only one that also rules out self-dealing: "We will never unbundle a bundle, and will never broadcast any bundles or private transactions to the public mempool", plus "To avoid any conflict of interest, we don't do any searching on Ethereum." No searcher… Weakest on rebate published and reaching the end user's address (2/10): The endpoint supports refundPercent and refund-recipient, so rebates are mechanically possible, but no default rate is published anywhere in the docs and there are no self-reported or measured payout figures. In practice the parameter is set by the searcher or integrator submitting the bundle, not by an ordinary… Published price: No fee, subscription or rebate rate published. The homepage presents a block builder that accepts bundles ("We support the standard endpoints and eth_sendBundle with replacements & cancellations, as well as refundPercent"). The API docs list only a "Rate limit: 50 requests/sec" and define refundPercent as an optional bundle field, "the percentage (from 0 to 99)", set by whoever submits the bundle. It is not a priced consumer product.

Frequently asked
Questions people ask before choosing mev protection
What is the safest MEV protection service?
Protection comes from whether the endpoint actually withholds your transaction. An endpoint that leaks calldata or hints to builders before inclusion has not protected anything, whatever block rate it advertises.
Do rebates actually reach me?
That is exactly what is scored, at 30% of the weight. A published rebate percentage that settles anywhere other than the trader's own address is not a rebate to the trader, so the criterion asks for evidence of arrival rather than an advertised rate.
What happens if my transaction is dropped?
It depends on the builder set behind the endpoint, which is why inclusion breadth and documented drop behaviour are scored together. A private relay that can protect you can also censor you, so the centralisation of that set is treated as a fact about your exposure.
Why are vendor-published protection rates not scored?
Because almost none of them can be independently reconstructed. A protection rate computed and published by the party selling the protection is shown here for context, and what is scored instead is whether the claim rests on data anyone outside the vendor could verify.
