Direct answer

Which crypto card should Netherlands residents use in November 2026?

ether.fi Cash ranks highest in ChainChoice’s published crypto cards ranking among the providers that list the Netherlands. The order is the published ranking itself; providers whose terms exclude the Netherlands are removed. Check authorisation with AFM before depositing.

Right fit for this list
  • Netherlands residents holding capital in EUR
  • Users who need AFM-aligned compliance and audit-grade reporting
  • Buy-and-hold profiles benefiting from the Netherlands' tax treatment
  • Sophisticated retail and family-office treasurers
Wrong fit — look elsewhere
  • Derivatives / perpetuals traders (use a regulated futures venue instead)
  • Privacy-focused users avoiding KYC (these are licensed venues)
  • Day-traders chasing the lowest spreads regardless of regulator posture
  • Anyone needing a service AFM does not currently authorise

8 crypto cards listed for the Netherlands

In ChainChoice’s published ranking order, from this category’s 9 providers: those whose terms exclude the Netherlands are removed; those silent on it come last. Each chip names the basis: a dated check, a region listing, or the provider's own claim.

  1. #1 for the Netherlandsether.fi Cash#1 globallyLists Europe; the Netherlands not individually verified

A Visa credit card issued by Third National against a self-custodial ether.fi vault: spending is a borrow, not a sale, and the FX markup is published as a tier-dependent range on top of a stated ~1% base — but the issuer's regulator is never named and the ATM fee for the two entry tiers is never priced.

A prepaid FIAT Visa card issued by Crypto.com's own Malta EMI subsidiary (Foris MT Limited, C 90348, Visa Principal Member (Issuing)) — the shortest issuer dependency chain in the pool and a full published fee table, but the numbers live on a regional help-centre article, never on the page that sells the card, and the EEA foreign transaction fee charged only on the free tier until 30 September 2026 extends to the Ruby, Jade and Indigo subscription tiers from 1 October 2026.

An EEA/UK-only Mastercard issued by DiPocket UAB (Bank of Lithuania EMI licence LB002009) that toggles per-tap between a collateralised Credit Mode — spending that is a borrow, not a sale — and a Debit Mode that sells; it publishes a weekday/weekend FX split and a fully tiered ATM allowance, but never names the base rate its FX fee marks up.

How you can lose money here, and what the ranking scores
  • Regulatory failure: no licence where you are, or a forced market exit.
Scored by Whose licence is actually behind this card, and will they even tell me their name? · 21% (ether.fi Cash 4/10, Crypto.com Card 7/10, Nexo Card 6/10)
Scored by Does buying a coffee create a taxable disposal, and will they hand me the record? · 20% (ether.fi Cash 8/10, Crypto.com Card 7/10, Nexo Card 8/10)
  • Exit failure: you cannot get out at par, on time, or with what is yours.
Scored by Will this card still work next month, and who has to fail for it to stop? · 26% (ether.fi Cash 7/10, Crypto.com Card 7/10, Nexo Card 9/10)
Not assessed by this ranking: Control failure, Liveness failure, Custody failure, Insolvency failure, Execution failure, Information failure. A high place says nothing about these; the Methodology tab says what each means.
Also scored, as cost, quality or a summary of several families: What does one swipe abroad actually cost me, and can I work that out before I sign up? (33%).

Each cell is verified against the provider's filings or the AFM register; a gap shows "—", never an estimate.
