PricingSnapshotTransak help-centre article "How does Transak calculate prices and fees?" (https://support.transak.com/en/articles/7845942-how-does-transak-calculate-prices-and-fees), fetched 28 September 2026, HTTP 200 ("Updated over 3 weeks ago"). On-ramp fees: SEPA Transfer "0.99% of transaction amount, minimum 1 EUR"; Credit / Debit Card (EUR) "3.5% of transaction amount + 1 EUR"; Credit / Debit Card (non-EUR) "5.5% of transaction amount + 1 EUR"; Apple Pay / Google Pay (EUR) "3.5% of transaction amount, minimum 1 EUR", (non-EUR) "5.5% of transaction amount, minimum 1 EUR". Rate: "The quoted rate reflects the rate provided via the publicly available market pricing tool CoinGecko at the time of the transaction, plus a spread of 0% to 2.5%, depending on how volatile the currency is at the time." (on 18 August 2026 the same sentence read "plus a spread of 2.5%"). Third-party fees (gas, validator, liquidity) are separate and "displayed before you confirm your transaction". Worked example (our arithmetic, not a Transak figure): a EUR 200 purchase by SEPA = EUR 1.98 fee plus a spread of 0 to 2.5 percent over CoinGecko, an all-in of roughly 1 to 3.5 percent plus network fees; by EUR card = EUR 8.00 fee plus the same spread, roughly 4 to 6.5 percent. A second, USD-denominated on-ramp fee table on transak.com/fees-pricing-calculation (linked as "Pricing & Fees" from the compliance page) prices cards and bank transfers differently and does not say which jurisdiction it applies to.No fee number is published. The entire fee disclosure is one FAQ answer on the Kotani Pay homepage (https://kotanipay.com/, fetched 29 September 2026, HTTP 200; the answer text ships in the page's script bundle): "Are there any fees associated with using Kotani Pay?" answered "Yes, we charge an on-ramp/off ramp free based on the product." [sic, "free" for "fee"]. The /on-off-ramp product page carries no numbers, and the docs On-Ramp guide that should carry them (https://docs.kotanipay.com/docs/kotani-pay-on-ramp, and its .md copy on kotani-pay.readme.io) still returns HTTP 404 on 29 September 2026 while the docs index still links it. Pick it when
Pick Transak if purchase cost matters most — it scores 7/10 to Kotani Pay's 1/10 there (weight 34).
Strength
All in purchase cost — 7/10
Tradeoff
The number on the confirm button is not the number that settles: the quote is 'valid only for a short period — generally between 5 and 10 seconds', settlement on bank rails happens at the 'Market Price (at time of bank transfer settlement)', and standard SEPA 'May take up to 3-5 Working Days' — so the buyer wears up to five days of market move, and with a spread of 0% to 2.5% over CoinGecko on top of the 0.99% fee the cheap bank rail lands anywhere from roughly 1% to 3.5% all-in (fee article read 2026-09-28) — though that day Transak's coverage page and countries API listed no EU state and its fiat API offered EUR with no SEPA option.

Kotani Pay

Pick it when
Kotani Pay leads Transak on no published criterion and no score dimension — pick it only if a fact outside the score (country, funding rail, custody) decides for you.
Strength
Licence identity — 4/10
Tradeoff
You cannot learn the price, the terms, or the delivery promise before committing: no fee number exists on any public page, the Terms and Conditions URL returns 404, and access itself requires booking a sales call — the licence is real, but everything a buyer would check before trusting money to the rail is unpublished.

Score dimensions

weights sum to 86

The published score is five dimensions, each weighted for the category. "Published criteria" is the criteria block above; the other four are the engine's own terms — availability, friction, trust record, measured data. Each bar is one side's points out of that dimension's maximum; the weight beside the name is its points of the 86-point weighted total. The published criteria above can fill 24 of the block’s 30. A weight marked “constant here” belongs to a dimension every ranked product in the category holds at the same value: it still counts in the total, and it orders nothing here.
