Entry planSnapshothttps://summ.com/pricing — fetched 29 September 2026. A desktop User-Agent gets HTTP 403 (also in headless Chrome); an iPhone-Safari User-Agent over HTTP/1.1 gets HTTP 200, and https://summ.com/pricing/personal serves the same page. No currency code is printed; prices render with a bare "$" beside a country selector. Header: "Pay the lowest tax and get the most accurate reports with Summ (formerly Crypto Tax Calculator)." Four plans, each labelled "Annual subscription.": "Rookie" "$ 49" "100" "Transactions"; "Hobbyist" "$ 99" "1,000" "Transactions"; "Investor" "$ 249" "10,000" "Transactions"; "Trader" "$ 499" "100,000" "Transactions", with a slider to "500,000". Every plan lists "Unlimited tax reports for all tax years", "Crypto and stocks coverage" and "Dividend tracking"; "Tax minimisation algorithm", "Tax loss harvesting", "Advanced reports" and "Audit report" start at Investor; "Trading stock report" is on Trader. Above the ladder: "We support up to one million transactions and offer custom solutions for high-volume traders." FAQ: "Our subscription pricing is per year not tax year, so with an annual subscription you can calculate your crypto taxes as far back as 2013." | "Summ has an annual subscription which covers all previous tax years." | "For access to reports, the tax loss harvest tool or chat and priority support, you will need to upgrade to the appropriate paid plan." This is a recurring annual subscription covering all years, not a per-tax-year purchase; access ends when the subscription ends (https://help.summ.com/en/articles/6294285-cancellation-policy, fetched 2026-09-29: "Once your subscription expires, you will lose access to any paid features, including tax reports.").https://ledgible.io/pricing/ — fetched 29 September 2026, HTTP 200, plain curl; text unchanged from 19 August 2026. The page publishes one price as text: tabs "Professional Tax" "(Starting at $49)" and "Enterprise Accounting" "(Custom Pricing)"; lead "Our tax platform has straightforward base pricing with clearly defined transaction tiers."; "Ledgible Crypto Tax Pro is free for Tax Professionals to use. Clients are charged directly on a per client basis." The tier ladder is served only inside two images (alt text "crypto tax tracking software"; ledgible.io/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Group-5301.png and Group-5302.png, both re-downloaded 29 September 2026 and read visually, so not byte-verifiable): IMAGE-READ "Base Price" $49 "Tax-year reporting and up to 200 transactions"; IMAGE-READ "Usage-Based Incremental Pricing" $50 "200–1000 transactions" and $100 "Each set of 2500 transactions over 1000". Enterprise: no price, only cost drivers ("Account Users", "Exchange Connections", "Wallets", "Transaction Volume", "General Ledger Integrations") and two unpriced examples. The binding caps for the $49 buyer are in the help centre, https://support.ledgible.io/hc/en-us/articles/360058705432-Purchasing-Reports (read 29 September 2026 via the Zendesk API, updated 22 August 2024): "The basic package starts at $49 and includes up to 2 wallets and 1 exchange in their data sources with up to 200 transactions." Counting basis, https://support.ledgible.io/hc/en-us/articles/4405478844045-Intro-to-Ledgible-Products (updated_at 9 August 2026, unchanged): "Pricing for Ledgible Crypto Tax begins at $49 a tax year and increases based on the number of total transactions added to your Ledgible account" | "Pricing is based on the total number of transactions you've made from the beginning of your transaction history to the end of the current tax year date (rather than annual transactions)". Refunds, https://ledgible.io/terms-of-service.pdf/ ("Last Updated: December 20, 2019", fetched 29 September 2026): "MEMBERSHIP FEES WILL NOT BE REFUNDED, IN WHOLE OR IN PART, SUBJECT TO APPLICABLE LAW." Pick it when
Pick Summ (formerly Crypto Tax Calculator) if your tax form matters most — it scores 8/10 to Ledgible's 5/10 there (weight 32).
Strength
Awkward case treatment — 9/10
Tradeoff
Three compounding surprises, all landing after the card is charged. (1) YOUR REPORTS ARE RENTED — THOUGH YOUR DATA IS NOT DELETED. Terms clause 5.2: "For recurring services, we grant you and your Authorised Users a right to access the relevant Services only for the duration that you continue to pay for the Service, subject to these Terms." The cancellation article is blunter: "Once your subscription expires, you will lose access to any paid features, including tax reports." Read the whole article, though, because the same page also says: "The data and integrations you have imported are retained and can still be reviewed on the Accounts and Transactions pages unless a refund is issued, which may result in their deletion." So the history stays visible; what dies is the ability to REGENERATE the filed report and to EXPORT anything. The documented escape hatch does not survive either: "Currently, the only way to back up your data in Summ (formerly Crypto Tax Calculator) is by exporting your Transaction report. This ensures you have a copy of your raw data outside the platform.", which requires an active subscription ("An active subscription is required to download reports for all years.") and whose nine columns carry no cost basis. Stop paying in year three and the 2025 return you already filed cannot be regenerated to defend an audit — even though you can still look at the transactions behind it. (2) AT $49 AND $99 YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE INVENTORY METHOD. The pricing page, fetched 2026-09-29, no longer names inventory methods by tier (the features that start at Investor ($249) are "Tax minimisation algorithm", "Tax loss harvesting", "Advanced reports" and "Audit report"), but the vendor's own pricing help article states the gate: "Additionally, tools like the Tax Loss Harvesting Tool, advanced inventory methods, and advanced reports are only available on Investor and Trader Plans." The US default is Highest In First Out, so a US filer on Rookie or Hobbyist is locked into HIFO — a method that materially changes the tax owed — and the fix costs $200 more rather than a settings click. (3) UK FILERS WITH DEFI FACE A ONE-WAY DOOR: "Please note that, currently, the Bridge and Swap categories are not supported if you choose HM Revenue and Customs as your inventory method. If you use other inventory methods (e.g., First In First Out or Average Cost), you can use these categories but will not be able to switch back to HM Revenue and Customs." The method that actually binds under UK law is unavailable to anyone who has bridged or swapped, and leaving it is irreversible. Worse, the escape is paywalled: "In Summ (formerly Crypto Tax Calculator), we provide three inventory methods if your country setting is the UK. The HM Revenue and Customs method is available for all paid subscriptions. We also provide the First In First Out and Average Cost inventory methods for users on the Investor and Trader plans." — so a UK filer on Rookie ($49) or Hobbyist ($99) has HMRC as their only method and therefore cannot use the Bridge or Swap categories at all. Lesser but real: the pricing page, fetched 2026-09-29, no longer lists smart contract transactions by tier, but the vendor's help centre puts them above the $49 tier: "Certain features, such as smart contract transactions, require a subscription to the Hobbyist Plan or higher."

Pick Ledgible if record portability matters most — it scores 6/10 to Summ (formerly Crypto Tax Calculator)'s 4/10 there (weight 20).
Strength
Portable record and prior year access — 6/10
Tradeoff
The $49 is a lifetime-transaction toll, not a this-year toll, and the caps that decide your bill are published only inside a PNG. Ledgible's own words: "Pricing is based on the total number of transactions you've made from the beginning of your transaction history to the end of the current tax year date (rather than annual transactions)" (support.ledgible.io/hc/en-us/articles/4405478844045, updated 2026-08-09). A filer with eight years of history and four trades this year is priced on all eight years. The base tier is also far narrower than the pricing page admits — "The basic package starts at $49 and includes up to 2 wallets and 1 exchange in their data sources with up to 200 transactions." (article 360058705432); that 2-wallet and 1-exchange limit appears NOWHERE on ledgible.io/pricing/, whose own base-tier image says only 'Tax-year reporting and up to 200 transactions'. (The pricing page does print '2 wallets', but inside an Enterprise Accounting usage example, not as the $49 cap — do not read it as the consumer limit.) Second, the buyer arriving from the marketing site will find the automation isn't there: the FAQ says "Yes, the Ledgible Platform offers full support for DeFi and NFT trading." while the documentation says "NFT tracking isn’t done automatically on Ledgible, so tracking the activity will be best done manually.", DeFi auto-categorisation covers only Ethereum and Algorand, and "However, income cannot be automatically detected and therefore transactions that are to be taxed as such must be designated by the user." — so every staking reward, airdrop and fork is hand-labelled. Third, and most expensive to discover late: this is a US-only filing artefact whose US rulebook is stale. Rev. Proc. 2024-28 wallet-level basis allocation is not mentioned once in 277 knowledge-base articles — while Ledgible's institutional whitepaper explains the rule in detail, so the silence is in the consumer product, not in the company. The FIFO/LIFO/HIFO guidance still cites the superseded IRS Virtual Currency FAQ Q39-41, and the preparer instructions still assert crypto is 'not currently reported on 1099s' in the first Form 1099-DA season.

The published score is five dimensions, each weighted for the category. "Published criteria" is the criteria block above; the other four are the engine's own terms — availability, friction, trust record, measured data. Each bar is one side's points out of that dimension's maximum; the weight beside the name is its points of the 86-point weighted total. The published criteria above can fill 24 of the block’s 30. A weight marked “constant here” belongs to a dimension every ranked product in the category holds at the same value: it still counts in the total, and it orders nothing here.
