Why this rank
Why Scatter ranks #4
Each strength is read from evidence on a 0–10 ladder and weighted as the published methodology states. The 32 objective points these produce (18.9 here) sit inside the score; availability, friction, trust record and measured data add the rest.

What would move the rank
Each line is the ranking run again with one of Scatter’s criterion scores changed and every other value held: the smallest whole-point change on that criterion that moves its rank, and where the re-run puts it. Up to 4 climbs and 3 falls are listed, smallest change first. Nothing here is a forecast.

Record watch-outs
- The 5% is not a subscription you can cancel — it is welded into your contract. A v0.9.1 collection (last such deploy 2026-09-01) has an initialize() that reverts unless 'payoutConfig_.platformBps' is at least 250; the v10.0 implementation behind newer deploys (verified 2026-09-02) reverts if 'payoutConfig_.platformBps < 500'. Neither source has a setter for platformBps (payoutConfig is written only at initialize, plus the owner-gated ownerAltPayout field, at line 411 in v0.9.1 and likewise in v10.0), so the platform's share of every paid mint is fixed at deploy and routes to a Scatter-controlled ArchetypePayouts contract for as long as the collection mints — including long after Gum Inc. has stopped answering its Discord. Every setter on the collection answers to your key alone and Scatter's cut can never change, but each v10 collection is also tied to two registries one Scatter address owns: it can set the public-mint minimum fee to any value and override or zero the royalty recipient Scatter's router pays.

Facts

- Pricing
- Published on the docs home, https://
docs .scatter .art / (fetched 28 September 2026), under 'Minimal fees': "Scatter charges a 5% platform fee on paid mints, for most chains. The fee can vary somewhat for certain chains so please check when you deploy. This fee is taken from the mint cost and is not an added cost for minters." and "To protect our community from spam and maintain platform integrity, we've implemented a small (~$2 USD) deployment fee for L2/3s (not necessary on mainnet as the usual gas fee is enough)." New since the August read, on the same page: "As of September 1st 2026, Scatter now has a ~$1 minimum per mint fee for public lists on newly deployed collections." Deploy gas, same page: "When gas is low it typically costs only ~$10-20 in gas to deploy a collection contract on Scatter for Ethereum chain. For Layer 2 chains such as Base it will be just cents." How the minimum works is on https:// docs .scatter .art /creators /platform-fee (fetched 28 September 2026): "This is valid for contracts deployed after September 1st 2026. Scatter charges a ~$1 minimum fee per token mint to minters when minting from public mint lists.", "For creators, this will not impact your share of minting proceeds.", "No Platform Fee is added to private free mint lists (Charms)." and "A 10% difference is accepted". The FAQ, https:// docs .scatter .art /creators /faq (fetched 28 September 2026), adds for Ethereum: "you will need to do at least one $1-3 transaction to set up your public mint list". Four sentences the August note carried are no longer on https:// docs .scatter .art / and are dropped: 'Scatter only gets paid when you do.', 'This fee is tracked on-chain and uses the same system as our on-chain shill program.', 'Scatter does not take anything from external marketplace royalties - those are all yours.' and 'All services Scatter provides are covered under the platform fee.' On-chain context, not a published price: the verified v10 collection implementation (Blockscout, verified 2 September 2026) reverts at initialize unless the platform share is at least 500 basis points, and the ~$1 minimum is read at each public mint from a Scatter-owned MintFeeRegistry whose nativeMinimumFee returned 0.000358 ETH at Ethereum block 26080740 (29 September 2026).Scatter — official pricing page ↗ · 28 September 2026 - Prices published in

docs .scatter .art /legal /terms-of-service carries only an export-control and age rule — 'You may use our platform only as permitted by applicable law, including export control laws and regulations. If you reside in the United States, you must be 13 years of age or older to use our services. If you reside in the European Union, you must be at least 16 years old.' — plus a governing-law clause that expressly preserves local consumer law: 'Any legal questions/complaints/claims regarding this Agreement are under USA law and jurisdiction. These Terms of Service will be governed by USA law. However, some countries (including those in the European Union) have laws that require agreements to be governed by the local law of the consumer's country. This paragraph does not override those laws.' There is a California-resident notice (Department of Consumer Affairs contact) which is a disclosure obligation, not a restriction. NOTE: unusually for a crypto vendor, the terms contain no OFAC/sanctions clause and no prohibited-jurisdiction list at all; the product is a wallet-connected contract factory with no account, KYC or fiat rail. Scored global.

What the record carries
Changes to published ranks are recorded in a ledger; every step and its cause is listed on the rank-history page. The entries below begin with the current verified snapshot, then the methodology versions whose changes applied to this category, newest first.

- 10 October 2026
2026.10.8When nothing serves your country, the list shown for reference is the published ranking · platform-wide- fixed The reference list shown when nothing serves your country is the published order with the published scores, and a build check now fails any such list out of that order or with a score the ranking does not publish.
- fixed The explorer prints an overall rank only for a row the published ranking holds; a country entrant such as Coinbase Commerce for US merchants shows no overall rank.
- changed Published orders do not move. Country results change only where nothing serves the country: in India bill pay keeps Bitcoin Well first and now shows Strike second, as published; 35 such runs across all categories and countries now match the published list exactly.
- 10 October 2026
2026.10.6A criterion you require re-scores the rows that meet it · platform-wide- changed The explorer sends each criterion you require, at any band, as fit_required with your other answers; region, licence, chain and fact filters stay filters. On /best, a required criterion joins For you as a marked preference does, which needs your country; Overall stays the published ranking, filtered.
- added Every published criterion has a golden case as the explorer sends it (require:<criterion>), so the order a requirement gives is replayed and gated as the published order is, and a change to it needs an entry here.
- 16 September 2026
2026.09.15Dimension scores carry tenths, and eleven more categories are re-read from primary sources · platform-wide- changed Dimension scores resolve to tenths of a point (O-04b), and weightedTotal is rounded to six decimal places before the order is read. 518 published scores move across 107 categories that were not re-read; none of them moves by more than 4 points, and most move by 1.
- fixed 66 published scores change in the eleven re-read categories, against a verbatim source each. The largest moves are Reflexer RAI (−16), Beefy and Unrekt (−11), Aztec (−10) and Golem (+9) — all of them rows whose sources had moved since their last read.
- changed Published order moves in 38 of 119 categories and three #1s change: smart_contract_audits (Zellic → Certora) and travel_rule_compliance (Sumsub Travel Rule → CodeVASP) on the finer resolution, kyc_compliance (Veriff → Sumsub) on the re-read.
- added availabilitySource (O-04g): for a reader who states a country, a row whose availability in that country rests on a region tag its record gives no source for sorts below every sourced row. It is inert in every order published here, which states no country.
